Quarter 4

In Quarter 4, I learned about U.S. history form 1803-1859, I learned some important vocabulary: purchasing the Louisianna (not today's state of Louisianna),
Lewis and Clark Expedition, John Jacob Astor, mountain men, the Oregon Trail, the Mormons,The Texas Revolution, the Mexican-American War, the discovery of gold, the California Gold rush, and the North and the South.

1).Why were Lewis and Clark sent west? – to explore Louisiana Territory.
2). How are states’ rights and nullification related? – nullification would be aright of the state.
3). What were the points of the Monroe Doctrine? – east don’t bother west, west don’t bother east.
4). How did the spoils system affect the president’s power? – it increased itbecause now everyone that had a government job was on his side.
5). How was Jacksonian democracy more democratic? – promoted thecommon man as opposed to the elite.

This is what I learned in Quarter 4.
