Quarter 4

Linear System

      In Quarter 4, I learned linear system in math and it will be using next year. The activity was to learn about linear system and know how to use it. Linear system contains: linear function, linear equation. It also contains about what I learned in Chapter 2 about Coordinate Plane. Points in the coordinate plane are represented by ordered pairs. An ordered pair (10,7), shows the x-coordinate and y-coordinate. The x-coordinate is the input, or the domain, the y-coordinate is the output, also called the range.
      The linear equation, its slope-intercept form is y=Mx+b, b is the y intercept, M is the slope. It is a way to finding x and y.
      Real Life Example:
            You have a little cat in your house, it is playing with you 1 years already, when you first saw it, it is 25 cm long (1 years old), you recorded its length each quarter, it growing about 4.3cm each quarter, use the table to calculate its length when it is 3 years old. (Each quarter will be 1 unit)

  Check: From the table you could see the best-fitting line. Each year have 4 quarter, it will growing this year and next year, then it is 2 years, or 8 quarters. And each quarter grows about 4.3 cm.Then use the equationY = M X + B to write the equation.

Y = M X + B
Y = 4.3(8) + 24
Y = 34.4 + 24
Y = 58.4

         Answer: When the cat is 3 years old, its length is 58.4cm.
